In August 2008 OLOM joined the parishes of St. Elizabeth, St. Camillus, and the mission church of the Spanish Catholic Community of Langley Park in a parish partnership. This partnership is committed to developing a relationship among our parishes based on sharing our Catholic traditions and spirituality, the special and varied talents of our respective communities, and the blessings we can offer each other.
Praying with our Friends from Langley Park
On Friday, April 7, over 100 people from Langley Park came to join the OLOM community in praying the Stations of the Cross. Fr. Bill Byrne and Fr. Eric led the Stations in English and Spanish, respectively. A reception followed in the Kennedy Room. The LP women brought homemade tamales, papusas, and empenadas; Mercy supplied pizza, while a Walking With Purpose group brought salads, soda, and desserts to add to the feast. This year a DJ from LP supplied festive music. Dorkas, who had shared her story two years ago, returned to thank the parishioners for helping her realize her dream of a legal visa card!
