In August 2008 OLOM joined the parishes of St. Elizabeth, St. Camillus, and the mission church of the Spanish Catholic Community of Langley Park in a parish partnership. This partnership is committed to developing a relationship among our parishes based on sharing our Catholic traditions and spirituality, the special and varied talents of our respective communities, and the blessings we can offer each other.
The people of Langley Park joined Our Lady of Mercy to pray the Stations of the Cross on Friday, April 11 in Church. Fr. Bill and Fr. Eric led the stations in English and Spanish. A reception followed in the Kennedy Room, which featured homemade papusas, ttamales, and empenadas cooked by the women of Langley Park, as well as pizza, salad, and desserts. The time was made even more festive by music provided by a Langley Park DJ! A special thanks to Paola Luther, the coordinator of the reception, Anne Walker who coordinated the Confirmation students who served as greeters, and Anne Blum, who guided the LP altar servers!
Ways you can become active in the partnership:
Fluency in Spanish is appreciated but not necessary!
