Founded in 2017, “Mercy Serves” is a dynamic philanthropic outreach program for our parish. Building on our tradition of outreach and social justice, Mercy Serves provides organized community service opportunities for Mercy parishioners. While focused on providing Confirmation students with means to fulfill their Confirmation Service Requirements, Mercy Serves is open to all in the parish and we encourage all parishioners to get involved. We hope and expect that families will enjoy working together to serve those less fortunate in our community.
Mercy Serves strives to offer at least one organized service opportunity per month throughout the school year. A list of the events currently planned for this year, along with links to Sign Up Geniuses for each, is found here. If you have a service opportunity you would like to add to the Mercy Serves initiatives, or if you would like to volunteer to help lead any of the Mercy Serves activities, please contact Anne Walker at awalker@olom.org or 301-365-1318 x 206. We love volunteers!

Getting ready to distribute the coats at the Langley Park Boys and Girls Club.
Our Lady of Mercy has had a special partnership with the Langley Park Community for many years. One of our annual events is the Winter Coat Drive, which helps hundreds of underprivileged families receive new, warm coats every winter.
