SCAMP was founded in 1989 by members of Mercy to provide a summer camp experience for children from the parishes of St Thomas More and Assumption in SE Washington.

Update, January 2026:
If you are a person who likes to work with kids, and you would be willing to give a week of your time to provide a transformative experience next summer - the SCAMP 2026 team could use your help. We are looking for an adult to take a group- facing leadership role. The planning will be in place, but the corralling of kids is needed!
Teachers, coaches, youth workers - if you can move a group along, please speak with us about whether you could do all or part of the week of June 22-26,2026. Please email
